Target has recently come under fire for its decisions regarding Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, sparking important conversations about corporate accountability.
While these discussions are necessary, it’s equally important to ensure that the backlash doesn’t inadvertently harm the Black-owned brands that have worked tirelessly to secure a place on Target’s shelves and website.
These businesses—many of which are small, independent, and founded by passionate entrepreneurs—deserve our support now more than ever.
Below, we’ve curated a list of Black-owned brands available at Target. We encourage you to shop directly from their websites whenever possible.
Beauty & Personal Care
By supporting these brands directly, we can ensure that our dollars have the greatest impact on the entrepreneurs behind them.
Good morning Shoppe Black,
Thank you so much for this list. I looked at it twice and didn’t see Tabitha Brown’s name and products.
Thanks for all you do.
yes, and I also noticed it’s missing The Honey Pot
The Honey Pot is Black founded but not Black owned anymore. Beatrice Dixon, retains a minority stake in the company after its acquisition by Compass Diversified for $380 million. The existing management team continues to run the business under this new partnership.
This list is a keeper. Thank you for putting it together for Us to shop directly with the Brands.
Thanks we ALL need this !
Love the list but even more the catalyst it may become. I’ve shared it with all my friends and hope that everyone who sees your story and list will do the same. I know it is a great list and hope you will add more companies beyond target. Excellent job. Thanks so much!!!
Missing HoneyPot and Tabitha Brown!
Great list! Please consider adding Creamalicious Ice Cream to the list – owned and founded by a black woman and Executive Chef Liz Rogers
The link for Afro Unicorn is Target. Please update.
Done. Thanks!
What about Tabitha Brown?
Thank you very much. I’ve created lists before and shared with my family to encourage focusing on supporting us and keeping our businesses thriving. Oh and it looks like you left Tabitha Brown off the list.
