Goldman Edwards Wins $101M Contract to Support CMS Modernization

By Tony O. Lawson

Bethesda, Maryland-based technology firm Goldman Edwards has secured a $101 million federal contract to support security and technology modernization at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

The contract was awarded through the Goldman Edwards Tantus (GET) Joint Venture, with Goldman Edwards serving as prime contractor and managing partner. The joint venture was selected over seven other bidders.

The work will support the CMS Center for Clinical Standards and Quality’s Security Innovation and Operations and Modernization Support program, including security operations, innovation initiatives and enterprise modernization.

CMS is part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and administers major federal healthcare programs including Medicare and Medicaid.

The contract represents a significant expansion of Goldman Edwards’ work as a prime contractor in the federal technology market.

“This award is another strong example of the trust and confidence our government customers continue to place in Goldman Edwards and our partners,” CEO Jerrod Moton said in announcing the award.

Moton also described winning the contract as a prime through the joint venture as a significant milestone for the company.

Goldman Edwards provides technology and modernization services to government agencies, with capabilities spanning enterprise IT operations, cybersecurity, cloud services, software development, artificial intelligence and intelligent automation.

The company has been expanding its federal business through new contract vehicles, technology investments and the addition of executives with previous senior government experience.

Its recent federal wins also include an $18 million Federal Aviation Administration Designee Management System task order awarded through GET. Goldman Edwards is also part of the FAA’s Information Technology Innovative Procurement for Strategic Sourcing contract, a 10-year multiple-award vehicle with a $2.4 billion ceiling.

The CMS award expands a federal portfolio that Goldman Edwards says now spans healthcare, transportation, cybersecurity, cloud transformation, enterprise IT operations and digital modernization.
