Janta Power Raises $5.5M to Launch 3D Solar Tower

by Tony O. Lawson

Janta Power, a renewable energy startup pioneering three-dimensional solar technology, has raised $5.5 million in seed funding.

The investment will accelerate the development of its flagship 3D Solar Tower. It will also help expand the company’s mission to make clean energy more accessible worldwide.

The round was led by MaC Venture Capital, with participation from Collab Capital and other impact-focused investors.

Reinventing Solar Power for a New Generation

Founded in 2021 by Mohammed Njie, Janta Power is rethinking how solar energy is captured, stored, and distributed. The company focuses on markets where land is limited and power supply is unreliable.

The 3D Solar Tower is a vertical, modular system that stacks and angles solar panels to capture sunlight from multiple directions throughout the day.

Janta says this approach can generate up to three times more power per unit of land than traditional solar arrays.

Each tower includes self-cleaning surfaces, autonomous tracking, and sensor-based maintenance. Remote software updates allow performance to be optimized automatically. The system combines solar, grid, battery, and generator backup modes to keep power running 24/7.

Janta estimates its technology can deliver energy for less than five cents per kilowatt-hour. That’s about one-third the global average.

Each tower also comes with a 25-year warranty and can be installed in a fraction of the time required for conventional systems.

A Clean Energy Solution for High-Demand Sectors

The technology is designed for data centers, EV charging networks, healthcare facilities, and agricultural operations. These are industries where energy demand is constant and space is limited.

By building vertically, Janta Power can generate more renewable energy in dense urban areas and industrial zones where traditional solar farms are not practical.

Njie’s vision for Janta Power was shaped by his experience growing up in The Gambia, where power shortages are common.

That early exposure to energy challenges inspired him to create a scalable, affordable, and sustainable solution that can work anywhere in the world.

Scaling for Global Impact

With new funding secured, Janta Power plans to expand its research and development and launch pilot projects. The company will also build partnerships across Africa, North America, and other emerging markets.

Janta is in talks with infrastructure developers and utility providers to integrate its 3D Solar Towers into existing grids and new energy projects.

As more governments and companies push for clean energy, Janta’s model could help close the gap between innovation and accessibility.

The result is a future where renewable power is both efficient and within reach.
