LYS Beauty
Founded by Tisha Thompson in 2021, LYS Beauty is the first Black-owned clean makeup brand at Sephora. In 2025, LYS secured a $15 million investment, putting Thompson among the few Black women founders to raise venture capital at this level.
Pat McGrath Labs
Founded by Pat McGrath, known as the “Mother” of makeup, this award-winning brand is responsible for iconic runway and editorial looks—from glossy skin and bold, metallic eyes to mixed-media embellishments.
Danessa Myricks Beauty
Danessa Myricks is a self-taught artist and former corporate beauty executive. Her 100% cruelty-free brand is a favorite among pro makeup artists for its innovative Colorfix tubes (used on lips, eyes, and cheeks).
Damone Roberts Beauty
Damone Roberts Beauty offers professional-grade, cruelty-free brow products like precision pencils, tinted gels with micro-fibers, and a clear brow gel named one of the world’s best by Vogue. The line is trusted by celebrity clients and stocked in top salons.
Range Beauty
Alicia Scott launched Range Beauty out of her personal struggle to find makeup that wouldn’t aggravate her eczema and acne. The brand is clean, vegan, and was also the first Black woman–owned beauty brand to secure a deal on Shark Tank.
The Crayon Case
Founded by Reynell “Supa Cent” Steward, The Crayon Case is loved for its vibrant, school-themed palettes. The brand made headlines after selling over $1 million in product in just 90 minutes on Cyber Monday.
MAED Beauty
Founded by Denise Vasi, actress and entrepreneur, MAED Beauty focuses on affordable, inclusive makeup and lip care as self-care. The brand stands out for its community-driven product development and features customer stories in its campaigns.
