In the face of raging wildfires that have scarred

In the face of raging wildfires that have scarred parts of Los Angeles, a force of resilience has emerged from the ashes: the city’s Black-owned businesses. From restaurateurs serving hot meals to fashion brands donating essential supplies, these businesses are redefining what it means to be part of a community under siege. Shout out to the businesses listed below. @earlesoncrenshaw has partnered with a Pasadena church to distribute its famous hot dogs, groceries, clothing, hygiene products, and baby supplies to fire victims. @mr_fries_man has partnered with First AME Zion Church to provide meals and essential supplies to seniors, children, and families impacted by the wildfires. @taco_mell has been distributing burritos to firefighters battling the blaze, as well as to displaced residents. @octavias_bookshelf has temporarily shifted its focus from literature to becoming a hub for distributing free essential supplies, including bottled water, hygiene items, clothing, and food. @walkgoodla has mobilized to collect and distribute food, clothing, and other necessities to hundreds of residents affected by the fires. @carlasfreshmarket, a local food market, is hosting a bake sale with proceeds benefiting World Central Kitchen, an organization providing meals to families and first responders. @totencarry has donated luggage to evacuation centers and shelters in Pasadena and Altadena, helping those who had to leave their homes quickly. @activelyblack joined the relief efforts by donating new clothing to those affected by the wildfires. @sailorsbrewcoffee has partnered with @perrysjoint to provide complimentary continental breakfasts every Sunday. @afropunk joined forces with @walkgoodla , @spillmob, and other community-driven organizations. Emmy Award-winning comedian Katt Williams is venturing into the world of film production with an ambitious plan to transform a former military base in Alabama into a state-of-the-art movie studio. While details about the exact location and purchase price remain under wraps, speculation points to the Cold War-era barracks at Fort McClellan in Anniston, Alabama, listed for sale at $1.5 million. Amy Sisoyev, the comedian’s publicist, confirmed the acquisition but declined to share specifics, saying only, “I can confirm that he has purchased a former military base in Alabama.” The property, which Williams has fittingly named “Starships,” is said to feature an array of structures and amenities that make it ideal for large-scale film production. Reports indicate it includes 30 concrete buildings offering three million square feet of indoor space, 10 barracks with 20 rooms each, two expansive gymnasiums, and over 90 acres of flat land.
