NBA Hall of Famer and entrepreneur Shaquille O’Neal has joined Jacmel Infrastructure as a founding partner.
Jacmel Infrastructure is a new platform launched by Jacmel Partners, the New York–based alternative investment firm founded by Nick Jean-Baptiste and Jorge Mora.
The platform focuses on transportation, energy, social, and digital infrastructure projects across North America.
The announcement follows Jacmel’s recent investment in LaGuardia Airport’s Terminal B.
O’Neal will join Jean-Baptiste and Mora in partnering with developers and local governments to modernize essential infrastructure and drive economic growth in underserved communities.
O’Neal said one of his core values is that “if you have a positive impact on people’s lives, you will win.”
“We are honored to announce Shaquille as a founding partner,” said Mora. “His drive, business acumen, and commitment to impactful investments make him a perfect partner as we pursue a pipeline of unique opportunities.”
Jean-Baptiste added, “Growing up in Orlando, I saw firsthand Shaquille’s influence on and off the court. Now as partners, we look forward to executing on our joint vision for transformative infrastructure projects that lay the groundwork for future generations.”
Jacmel’s expansion into infrastructure reflects a broader shift among minority-led firms entering public-private partnerships and long-term asset management.
As federal incentives for modernization grow, Jacmel is positioning itself to help bridge the gap between public needs and private capital while broadening who benefits from rebuilding America’s future.
