  1. I’m not sure, Sweet Maple Café, is a black owned business. I went in there. They had about 15 employee’s in there and only one was black and she was a server. The woman walking around acting like she was running the place was Mexican.

  3. This is a good list if you live or hangout mostly near the south side of the city. There are 3, I believe are near north. Please check into these places; Soule`, 6978 Soul Food, Chicago’s Home of Chicken and Waffles [south side and Oak park, Il], Truth Italian, Demera, Vee-Vee’s African, Mac Arthur, The Licking, Taste 222, Frontier, Ina Mae, Virtue, Mr. Brown, Can’t Believe It’s Not Meat, The Delta, Betty Lexington SmokeHouse, Crazy Bird Chicken, Lizzy J Cafe… just to name a few. I realize this is a 2018 article. Please look to update your list.
